The neighborhood kids liked to ride their hot dawg RED bicycles to church for social activities as it
was an affordable and convenient means of transportation for them. The First Baptist Church
was located on Mundy and 3rd St from 1922 - 1944.
In 1934, the church outgrew their existing facility,
but didn't want to leave the neighborhood.
They increase their size by raising
the building and constructing a second floor
underneath the original structure.
