Nehemiah - Chapter 5

Nehemiah - Chapter 5: While Nehemiah was keeping the external oppression under control; the internal oppression was steadily increasing. The Nobles were putting heavy burdens on the people. Nehemiah found out about this and became very angry. He called a public gathering to deal with the situation. Nehemiah confronted them with their behavior and they promised to stop. (The anger we see in Chapter 4 was a selfish anger; here we see an example of a righteous anger, which is taking a stance against a horrible injustice.)
